What We Learned From The Obi Wan Kenobi Trailer

What We Learned From The Obi Wan Kenobi Trailer

Okay, so the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer dropped. And we all collectively inhaled our popcorn. It’s here, people! The man himself, back from his desert spa treatment.

Let’s be honest, the trailer was basically a giant wink at us. A big, cheesy grin from a galaxy far, far away. We learned a LOT. Or maybe we learned that we already knew a lot, and this trailer just confirmed it.

First off, Obi-Wan is looking… rough. Like he’s been through a lot. Which, you know, he has. But still, that beard. Is it for camouflage? Is it a fashion statement in the Outer Rim? We need answers.

And the dialogue. Oh, the dialogue. It was exactly what we wanted. Cryptic hints. Brooding stares. The weight of the galaxy on his shoulders. Standard Jedi stuff, really.

We got glimpses of the Inquisitors. They look as menacing as ever. Like they just stepped out of a very dark, very pointy convention. Their red lightsabers are practically screaming "we mean business."

And that one Inquisitor, the Grand Inquisitor? He’s got that look. The one that says, "I’m going to lecture you about the Force while trying to stab you." A truly terrifying combination.

Then there’s Darth Vader. Even in shadow, even with just a hint of his mechanical breathing, he’s there. The dark lord himself. You can practically feel the evil radiating through the screen. It’s giving us chills, and we’re here for it.

We learned that Obi-Wan is on the run. Or at least, he's hiding. Because, you know, the Empire is still a thing. And they really don't like Jedi. Imagine that.

The trailer made it clear: this is Obi-Wan’s journey. His personal struggle. He’s dealing with the aftermath of Order 66. The fall of the Republic. All that jazz. It’s heavy stuff.

But you know what? Even with all the darkness, there was a spark. A flicker of hope. That’s the Obi-Wan we know and love. He’s not going to give up. Not yet.

We also learned that the show is going to be epic. Like, really epic. The visuals looked stunning. The action sequences, even in the trailer, promised to be top-notch. Disney knows how to make things look good.

And what about Luke? We saw a young Luke. Running around. Being a kid. Oh, the irony. Little does he know what’s waiting for him. Or who.

The trailer hinted at Obi-Wan keeping a watchful eye. From afar. Protecting the boy. It’s like a space opera version of a protective parent. Which, in a way, he is.

We definitely learned that the music is going to be incredible. That iconic Star Wars theme. It just hits you right in the feels. Every single time.

The trailer also hinted at some new characters. Some we might not recognize. But they’re clearly important to Obi-Wan’s story. Adding new layers to the galaxy.

And that scene where Obi-Wan draws his lightsaber? Pure, unadulterated hype. That’s the moment you lean forward in your seat. You might even yell a little. No judgment.

We also learned that there will be plenty of running. Obi-Wan seems to be doing a lot of running. From bad guys. Across dusty planets. It’s a good cardio workout, we assume.

The trailer made us feel nostalgic. Like we were back watching the prequels. But with better effects. And a more mature story. Hopefully.

We learned that Ewan McGregor is still the perfect Obi-Wan. He embodies the character. The wisdom. The weariness. The quiet strength. He’s just… Obi-Wan.

And his accent? Still top-notch. Makes you want to wear a robe and ponder the universe. Even if you’re just trying to find your car keys.

The trailer also showed us the sheer desperation of the situation. The galaxy is in a bad way. And Obi-Wan is just one man. Fighting against impossible odds.

But he’s got the Force on his side. And a whole lot of good memories. And probably some really good advice from Yoda. If only we could hear it.

We learned that the stakes are incredibly high. If Obi-Wan fails, well, it’s not good for anyone. Especially for young Luke.

And that final shot? The one with Obi-Wan looking determined? That’s the money shot. That’s the moment that tells you this series is going to be worth watching.

We also learned that the timeline is still a bit confusing. Between Episode III and Episode IV. But that’s okay. We’ll just go with it. It’s Star Wars.

What did we learn from the new Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer on Star Wars day
What did we learn from the new Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer on Star Wars day

The trailer hinted at Obi-Wan grappling with his past. His failures. His regrets. It's a darker, more introspective story. We're ready for it.

We learned that there might be some Force ghosts involved. Or at least, Obi-Wan might be talking to himself. Which is basically the same thing in Star Wars.

The trailer gave us a peek into Obi-Wan’s exile. What was he doing for all those years? We’re about to find out. And it looks like it wasn’t all sunshine and bantha milk.

We learned that the Empire is truly oppressive. That their reach is long. And their cruelty is vast. It’s a stark reminder of what they represent.

And Obi-Wan? He’s a symbol of resistance. A beacon of hope. Even when he’s trying his best to stay hidden.

We learned that there will be lightsaber duels. Because, duh. It’s Star Wars. And if there aren't lightsaber duels, are we even watching the right show?

The trailer made us incredibly excited. Like, child-like excitement. We haven’t felt this way about a new Star Wars property in a while.

We learned that Reva, the Third Sister, is going to be a major player. She looks fierce. And ambitious. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.

The trailer teased her determination. Her drive to hunt down Jedi. She’s not going to make things easy for Obi-Wan. Or anyone else.

And the tension! The trailer was dripping with tension. Every scene felt important. Every whisper. Every shadow.

We learned that Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to be more than just a nostalgia trip. It’s going to be a story. A character study. A journey of redemption.

We learned that the wait is almost over. And the hype train has officially left the station. All aboard!

Honestly, the biggest thing we learned is that we are so, so ready for this. Bring on the Force. Bring on the bad guys. Bring on Obi-Wan.

And my unpopular opinion? That slightly worn-out, world-weary Obi-Wan is exactly what we need. He’s not the pristine Jedi Master from the prequels. He’s a man haunted by his past. And that’s way more interesting.

So yeah. The trailer. It was good. Really good. It gave us exactly what we wanted. And then some.

We learned that Star Wars is still magic. And sometimes, all you need is a grumpy Jedi in hiding to remind you of that.
