Turn Season 2 Episode 3 Review False Flag

Oh. My. Goodness. If you haven't watched Turn: Washington's Spies Season 2 Episode 3, titled "False Flag," yet, drop everything. Seriously, cancel your dentist appointment, tell your dog you'll be five minutes late with dinner, whatever it takes. This episode was an absolute rollercoaster, and I’m still a little shaky from the ride, in the best possible way!

Let's talk about Abe Woodhull for a sec. Our favorite spy is really out here trying to juggle being a farmer, a husband, a dad, and a secret agent for the Continental Army. It's like trying to pat your head and rub your belly while simultaneously solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. And this episode? He was really put through the wringer. We saw him wrestling with his conscience, making some seriously tough calls, and generally looking like a man who’d just discovered his entire pantry was full of kale. The pressure is ON, people!

And then there's Major André. Bless his impeccably dressed heart. He's trying his best to be the suave, charming British officer, and he is charming, don't get me wrong. But this episode, he’s dealing with some… well, let’s just say some less-than-ideal situations. It’s like he’s a really talented chef who’s been handed a bag of slightly bruised apples and told to make a five-star apple pie. He’s doing his best with what he’s got, but you can see the frustration simmering beneath that perfectly coiffed hair. And that scene with him… let’s just say it involved some serious negotiating and a whole lot of trying to keep his cool. Talk about a tough day at the office!

But the real MVP of this episode, in my humble opinion, has to be Benjamin Tallmadge. This guy is the backbone of the entire operation, the glue that holds the Culper Ring together. He’s like the ultimate project manager, but instead of deadlines for reports, he’s dealing with coded messages and potential treason. He’s sharp, he’s strategic, and he’s got this quiet intensity that just draws you in. When he’s figuring things out, you feel like you’re right there with him, piecing together the puzzle. He’s the guy you want on your team when the zombie apocalypse hits, just saying.

What I love about Turn is how it makes you feel like you're a fly on the wall, privy to all these hushed conversations and secret rendezvous. This episode, in particular, felt like we were really getting a peek behind the curtain of espionage. The stakes were so high, you could practically taste the gunpowder. Every decision felt like it carried the weight of the entire revolution, and watching our characters navigate those treacherous waters was just gripping.

And the betrayals! Oh, the betrayals! It’s like walking into a party where everyone’s suddenly wearing masks, and you don't know who's friend and who's foe. You think you've got it all figured out, and then BAM! Something completely unexpected happens, and you're left scrambling to pick up the pieces. It's the kind of storytelling that keeps you on the edge of your seat, clutching your popcorn like it’s a life raft. My heart rate was definitely doing some laps around the track during this one.

The episode also did a fantastic job of showcasing the sheer bravery and resourcefulness of the people involved. These weren't superheroes with capes; they were ordinary individuals making extraordinary choices under unimaginable pressure. It makes you appreciate the sacrifices made and the sheer grit it took to fight for what they believed in. It’s inspiring, really. Like watching someone knit a masterpiece out of a single, slightly unraveling thread. That’s the kind of dedication we’re talking about!
